If you want to make a call to Spain, you will have to dial the number without any of the prefixes. This number always has 9 digits, for both landlines and mobile phones.

If you want to use your mobile phone in Spain, you should know that the coverage is based in GMS technology, not compatible with some countries like USA and Japan. In this case, it is necessary to have a triband mobile phone. If your technology is compatible and your mobile line is from the European Union, you will be charged your normal rate (you might need to activate the roaming service through your mobile provider). If your technology is compatible and your mobile line is contracted outside the European Union, each call will incur in an additional cost applied to your normal rate, and this will depend on each provider.

Two good options could be to purchase a prepaid SIM card with minutes of calls to call from a mobile phone, or to purchase telephone cards that you will be able to use from any phone.

The voltage in Spain is 220 volts and 50 hertz of alternating current. The plugs all comply with European standards and respond to the round pin system. In any case, in most hotels there are adapters for special plugs. Make sure that the electrical appliances you are going to use (computers, mobile phone chargers, shavers…) work with this voltage.
